Wash and dry potatoes, then cut into halves. Place into a large pot of cold, salted water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook potatoes until fork tender, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat and drain.
Transfer to a large bowl and add milk, butter, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, maple syrup, salt, pepper, nutmeg and cloves. Using a potato masher, mash all ingredients together until well incorporated and the potatoes are smooth and lump-free.
Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh chives. Enjoy!
