Tips for a fun family summer
Do you ever find yourself running out of ideas for fun family activities? This summer, try some of these family fun tips – without emptying your wallet.
Scavenger hunt: Scavenger hunts can be held during the day or evening. They can also be held just about anywhere, including parks, your home or neighborhood, or even a school. Create an item list, set up clues and let the hunt begin. Give each team a digital camera to document their findings.
Backyard Campout Night: Pop up the tent in the backyard and enjoy a convenient vacation. Try including things that you would normally have on a camping trip such as s’mores and sleeping bags.
Visit a local farm: Bring your family to a local farm and pick out some fresh fruits and veggies. Prepare a healthy meal with the kids. They will enjoy preparing dinner with the fresh produce they picked out.
Obstacle course: Set up an obstacle course in your backyard using items around the house. You can use hoola hoops, jump ropes, pillow cases for a potato sack race and potatoes for a hot potato toss. Compete for best time and invite the neighborhood kids. This is a great way to provide exercise for the whole family.
Have a blast and stay safe this summer!
